In order to generate a classroom atmosphere with critical and creative problem-solving, all participants must possess an open mind, maintain levels of respect/tolerance/patience, and willingly become risk-takers.
Teacher’s Role-
The teacher’s role is that of a facilitator and a guide, role model, risk-taker, and a questioner (both dynamic and thought-provoking) moving students beyond the standards. The teacher must remain cognizant of the paths that will lead towards intellectual growth, as well as opportunities for next steps (future).
Goal-
No one person solves all the problems in a classroom; critical and creative thinking does not solely take place in isolation, and therefore, should remain a collaborative effort when appropriate.
